With at least one more hour added during the day, college athletes would have more time to rest and to get healthy for the next day of hard work. In 2010, a study was done where baseball players spent over 42 hours a week at practice, with college football teams usually practicing about 41-43 hours a week, men’s basketball being about 39 hours of practice. With this many hours of practice college athletes also have to get around 5:00 A.M. to go workout for an hour or little over an hour. Then have to go eat breakfast and then hurry to their classes so they can pass. Then off to practice from anywhere from 2-3 hours, then have to do about 2-3 hours of homework as well. Any athlete, as well as college athletes, need more rest than anything. With all of the activities he or she does throughout the day, an athlete needs plenty of rest.
